The Kalo Shop, United States. Handwrought sterling silver bowl or trophy cup, ca. 1910. With a monogram along the side with the initials “AMH”. Inscribed along the underside “Mr. and Mrs. Abner Meredith Harper. June eleventh, Nineteen hundred ten. Stamped along the underside “Sterling Hand Beaten at Kalo Shops Park Ridge Ills. 4897.” The Kalo Shops were founded in Chicago by six young women: Clara Pauline Barck Welles, Bertha Hall, Rose Dolese, Grace Gerow, Ruth Raymond, and Bessie McNeal.
