T.L. Solien “Husband Lost at Sea” 1985

T.L. Solien (born Fargo, North Dakota, 1949). Intaglio silkscreen lithograph titled “The Husband Lost at Sea,” 1985. Bursting with color and imagination, T. L. Solien has constructed a visual language within his work that he says places the history of abstraction and the tradition of figural painting in conversation with each other. “The Husband Lost at Sea” is a poignant juxtaposition of a seemingly serene ship against its own debris settling on the formerly vibrant ocean floor. Solien received his BFA from Moorhead State University, and his MFA in Painting and Sculpture from the University of Nebraska. Solienโ€™s work appears in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Whitney Museum of Art, Minneapolis Institute of Art, and Tate Gallery, London, among others. This is the fiftieth print in a limited edition of 60. Height: 26 1/4 in x width: 39 3/4 in.
