Group of dishes from two porcelain sets, the Edith Blue dining set designed by Charles Field Haviland (American, 1832-1896) for CH Field Haviland Limoges, Limoges, France; and Blue Rock tea set by Shelley (or Wileman & Co.), Staffordshire, England. The Edith Blue Dining Set is made up of twelve tea cups, twelve demitasse saucers, twelve tea saucers, one lidded sugar bowl, one gravy boat, twelve appetizer plates, twelve soup bowls, twelve dinner plates, one small serving platter, one large serving platter, one small lidded serving bowl, and one lidded serving bowl. Each Edith Blue piece is marked along the underside with “CH FIELD HAVILAND LIMOGES” and “LIMOGES FRANCE.” Each Edith Blue piece is made of China with gold filigree and a blue rim.
The Shelley Blue Rock Tea Set is made up of six tea cups, one creamer, one small sugar bowl, six tea cup saucers, one small serving plate, and one lidded tea pot. Each Blue Rock piece has a blue rim and flower ornamentation in its design. Each Blue Rock piece is made of fine bone China and is marked along the underside with “Shelley ENGLAND” and “Blue Rock 13591.”
