Paul Granlund "Orbit II" Bronze Sculpture 1984
Paul Granlund “Orbit II” Bronze Sculpture 1984

Paul Granlund (American, 1925-2003). One bronze sculpture titled “Orbit II” depicting a nude girl and boy with outstretched bodies; each figure grasping the other’s feet in a circular formation, 1984.

Signed and numbered 9/10 along the base. The sculpture is executed with Granlund’s signature uneven, almost bark-like, finish, giving an organic sense to the work. The graceful forms are interrupted by the angles of the figures’ joints, and the figures’ heads are turned as if to gaze at one another, strengthening the connection through space. With a certificate of authenticity from C.G. Rein Galleries.
