Joachim Ferdinand Richardt (Danish/American, 1819-1895). Oil on canvas Hudson River School style painting depicting St. Anthony Falls in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Signed and dated along the lower right. He is well known for his paintings of landscapes, castles, manors, and other various tourist attractions, especially Niagara Falls. Two of his works are hung in The White House in Washington, D.C. One painting, a 1856 view of Niagara Falls, was chosen as the backdrop for the luncheon following the second inauguration of Barack Obama in Statuary Hall. Sight; height: 36 1/2 in x width: 61 in.
