Paul Jacoulet (French, 1896-1960).
Group of two woodblock prints. One titled “Les Jades Chinoise” depicting a woman dressed in finery against a red background with a dragon. The other titled “Fleurs du Soir Truck-Toloas” depicting a woman leaning against a balcony surrounded by blooming flowers. Paul Jacoulet was born in Paris but grew up in Japan with his professor father, and from childhood cultivated an interest in Japanese woodblock printing, eventually forming his own extremely successful print publishing company, the Jacoulet Institute of Prints.
