Benjamin Upton (American, 1818-1910). Cabinet card photograph depicting a real estate office with gentlemen gathered on the porch in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Titled “First Real Estate Office in Minneapolis, Built 1855, on North Side of Bridge Square, near Suspension Bridge.” An ink inscription alongside this reads “Snyder & McFarlane about 1856.” Numbered “10” in pen along the upper right corner of the mat. Stamped along the verso “Published by E. A. Bromley, Minneapolis, from the original Upton negatives.” and “Hill Reference Library St. Paul” along with a library catalog number in pencil. There is a loss to the corner of the mat along the upper left.
