Sonja Blomdahl Blown Glass Vessel

Sonja Blomdahl (American, b. 1952). Handblown glass sculpture in orange, lemon-yellow, and blue. Signed and etched 1407 along the underside. She is well-known for her use of the incalmo or “double bubble” technique which involves fusing together two pieces of glass with the same diameter. She studied at Orrefors Glassworks in Sweden as well as with Dan Dailey at Dale Chihuly’s Pilchuck Glass School.
