Henrietta Dunn Mears (American, 1877-1970). Watercolor on paper painting titled “Sierre Madre Mt’s and Poppy Fields of California,” depicting a serene landscape, ca. 1937. Signed, titled, and dated Christmas of 1937 along the paper backing along the verso. Signed along the lower left. Mears was active and lived in St. Paul, Minnesota. She studied at the St. Paul Institute, which is a predecessor to both the Minnesota Museum of American Art (The M) and the Science Museum of Minnesota. Additionally, she exhibited at the Minnesota State Fair in 1927.
