Don Lozier (American, 20th-21st c). One boot knife with a double hollow ground Damascus steel blade; marked along the ricasso. The hilt of mother of pearl ornamented with lovely steel and gilt filigree and a scalloped edge. With a custom matching black leather sheath. A knifemaker since 1991, Don Lozier became a voting member of the Knifemaker’s Guild in 1996. He specializes in daggers, fighters, Persian fighters, hunters, and boot daggers. His works are noted for their pronounced spine, radical grind radius, and greater strength at the blade tip owing to his freehand grinding using either a 1 inch or 2 inch diameter contact wheel. His works have appeared frequently in magazines and, in total, he has garnered 26 awards.
